As you use your personal computer through the years, it tends to slowdown
especially when it has stored an enormous amount of data which has piled up and
started to generate errors without you noticing it. You suddenly worry about
system freezing and crashing and the displaying of error messages one after the
other. You can solve these problems on your own provided that you have the
necessary software tools at hand.
Don't even try to solve these without reading this as it can cause more
trouble instead of giving you a solution to your computer's problems. You can
follow these simple steps to get a slow computer fix and get a real solution to
your slow running computer.
1. The first step is to close all programs that you have opened you simply
do not need running all the time. Closing these programs will help your
computer work faster because they take use so much memory.
Technicians tip.
If you find your computer is freezing or pausing after it has been on for a
while do not shut it down from the power switch. This will cause registry and
windows corruption and in the worst possible case the next time you start
windows you will see this.
"windows cannot start because of a missing or damaged file".
What you need to do instead is this. Start task manager. You can do this by
right clicking on the task bar at the bottom of the screen or you can press the
CTRL-ALT-DEL keys together.
From then you can force the computer to shut down by clicking on shut down
and then selecting shut down or restart from the drop down menu. Be patient and
your computer will eventually shut down.
2. The next step is to clean up your windows and system files. Remove any
programs you do not need or use anymore. The same goes for files and temporary
files. The easiest way to do this is with the windows disk cleanup tool which
you can find under accessories on the start menu then system tools.
3. Scan windows and the windows registry for corruption. Windows file errors
can eventually result in registry errors and registry errors can cause serious
windows and system corruption so both need to be fixed at once. This cannot be
done manually as there is no way of knowing which files and folders are
corrupt. There is a simple process to follow to fix this.
A) Defragment your hard drive. This will put all the files and programs in
the right order and help you get a slow computer fix by making files faster to
find.
B) Run a system and registry scanner. This will then fix and errors with windows and registry files and optimize your computer to run faster.
Technicians tip.
Running the above steps in the order they are listed is vital. It is no good
defragmenting the hard drive first then removing programs. This will leave
empty space on the hard drive and will slow down your computer further, instead
of speeding it up. If you are want a faster computer and are fed up with your
computer running slow follow these steps and speed it up now.
