We have all become familiar with the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD), the blue
background with white lettering telling us a memory dump is being performed and
creating no other solution but to restart our computers manually.
Windows XP, while more sophisticated than the former Windows, such as
Windows 98, Windows NT, and Windows Me, still is plagued with the Blue Screen
of Death error screen. How do you fix the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) in
Windows XP?
Bad Memory Chip or incompatible hardware or software: This is rarely the
case, but it can cause the memory dump error or BSOD error in Windows XP. Run a
diagnostic on your memory and if new hardware or software was recently
installed, uninstall it.
Power Supply Weak or Going Bad: Your systems power supply may not be
sufficient for your computer to run, or the PSU is going out. Check for extreme
dust or replace if needed.
Windows Registry Problems: This is the most common reason for the Blue
Screen of Death error in Windows XP, to repair you simply need to download and
install a good registry cleaner and run it on your system. You can remove the
unneeded, corrupt, or malicious entries that are in the registry and clear up
the problem.
A good registry cleaner will not only prevent the Blue Screen of Death, at
the very least, it will help you improve the speed of your PC, boot up and
loading times of your windows applications, such as Microsoft words and PC
games.
